Join us on 24 February for an important event supporting men’s mental health.
Last year, Harbord Football Club supported the first Spoke to a Bloke Gala day for some of the senior teams and had an cracking day. Harbord F.C. have been instrumental in supporting this, together with the MWFA and Cromer Park Football grounds.
Spoke to a Bloke is a charity focused on supporting men’s mental health. They do this by running events that bring blokes together, generate awareness and offer guidance to support services. For more information about Spoke to a Bloke, please visit www.spoketoabloke.org.
More age groups invited in 2024
Spoke to a Bloke has a very special relationship with Harbord Football Club.
This year we are excited to announce we have expanded. We have Cromer Park 1 (main grandstand field) from 9am – 9pm and are extending the Gala day to include more age groups and would love to see lots of boys and girl teams participating. Once we have confirmation of all teams, we will work with Suzy, Paul and Tom around ensuring we have maybe some handicaps etc to even things up if needed. This isn’t about the results, but a great way to support an important cause and also great for teams to bond prior to the season kick off. And of course we would love to see as many parents, family, friends along as well to support the day.
We need to have confirmation by the 7th of Feb of any teams wanting to participate. First in to secure your team. The entry fee will be $10 per player for Rounds 1 and 2 (see below).
The format will be (approx. as times may change slightly):
Round 1 – 9 am – 11:30 am
4 Qtr size pitches, 4 teams per pitch in a round robin. This will be 2024 U6 or U7, U8, U9 and U10 – one age group per pitch.
Round 2 – 12:30 pm -3 pm
4 qtr size pithes for 2024 U11/12, U13/14, U15, U16
Round 3 – 3:30 – 7 pm
8 senior teams from last year who have all requested to come back.
Please contact Paul Dunn at. paul@spoketoabloke.org to register your teams
In total we need 32 teams for the first 2 rounds. 4 pitches, 4 teams per pitch, 2 rounds. As you can appreciate, organising this will be a challenge – so would really appreciate your support to confirm Yes or No. It will be a cracking day.
Where we do not have enough teams per pitch, we will reach out to Manly Vale or other MWFA clubs to invite them to enter a team for that age group.
Thank you,
Harbord F.C. committee
