Welcome to a new year and the 2024 season for Harbord Football Club.
Registrations are now open and we encourage all new and returning members to be part of our growing club this year.
Registering early will help you get a spot in the team you want to play in and you can name a team, or friends, you wish to play with when you register. (We always do our best to ensure you play with your friends, but if you leave it too late that team may be full)
The PlayFootball website is similar to last year and quite easy to follow.
TOP TIPS for easy registration!
- Use the same email address (for you or the family) that you used last year
- If you are registering a child for the first time this year, please set up the parent’s account first on PlayFootball first, even if you didn’t previously have an account.
- Have a digital version of a passport-style photo for each new player registered
- Payments can be made with a credit card at checkout
- Optional: Access the Active Kids Voucher through Service NSW before registering your kids (see below)

Active Kids Discount Voucher
The NSW government Active Kids Discount Voucher program continues in 2024, however please note the differences:
2024 Active kids vouchers will be active from 1 February. The voucher value is $50 and is means-tested. Service NSW explains:
From the start of Term 1 and Term 3 2024, eligible families will be able to apply for an Active and Creative Kids voucher, valued at up to $50.
The Term l vouchers will be available from Service NSW from 1 February.
Unlike the previous program, which was universal, the NSW Government has means-tested eligibility for the new voucher program. Only families eligible for Family Tax Benefit Part A will be eligible for the new program.
Sport NSW estimates that approximately 45% of families eligible for AKVs will be eligible for the Active and Creative Kids voucher.
Apply for your voucher for your school-enrolled child before registering for football with Harbord Football Club with last year’s vouchers, or 2024 vouchers from 1 February. Go to ActiveKids at Service NSW online for details and links to apply for your voucher before starting the registration process.

Coaches & Managers
All coaches and managers must also register, via PlayFootball, however, there is no cost or fee, it is free. To register as a coach or manager of a team, please ensure that you have a valid & current Working With Children Check (WWCC) before you register online as you MUST enter your WWCC number as part of the registration. Player Photographs
The system requires ALL players (U10-045) and ALL coaches and managers to upload a current, Australian government passport size and quality photograph when you register online. For the 2024 season, please ensure that a new photo is uploaded when you register online. Please note the specific requirements for the photographs:
- Passport-style portrait photograph
- Shoulders and head on a plain background
- No hats, sunglasses etc
- If you play with approved sports glasses, the glasses must be worn for the photo
If a suitable photograph is not uploaded into your PlayFootball profile, then your registration will not be approved, until this is completed.
New Players to Harbord
All new players to Harbord FC from U10 and older, must send proof of age (photo or scan of passport or birth certificate) to our Club Registrar: registrar@harbordfc.com.au
If you played Football in another Country than Australia it is IMPORTANT to contact your Club Registrar FIRST and BEFORE you start your online Registration process.
If you have not played football for the last 5 years or did not play for an MWFA club in 2023, then you must complete a 2024 MWFA Application to Register. This applies to all players U12 and older. Please complete the form and email a scanned copy or photo to our Club Registrar.

Changes to Competition Structures for 2024
Girls W7 – W11
New to the MWFA for the 2024 season will be a Women’s U7 competition.
This competition, along with the WU8, WU9, WU10 and WU11 competitions will be played on Sunday mornings as are the girls W12 to W18 competitions.
Girls W12 and Mixed U12
The WU12 and U12 competitions in 2024 will change from 11 vs 11 on a full field to 9 vs 9 on a midi-field. These competitions will still have MWFRA referees and published competition tables.
U18/1, W18/1 and U21
The Women’s WU18/1 and Men’s U18/1 & U21 competitions will be played on Friday nights at 7.00 pm.
Key Points
Some key points about registering:
- The Football Federation Australia ‘Play Football’ national registration system will be used for the 2024 season.
- Each player needs their own FFA Number.
- New players will need to create an FFA Account to obtain an FFA Number.
- Please ensure that your email and mobile details are correct as these are our primary form of communication.
- All coaches and managers must have a valid Working With Children Check (WWCC) before you register online as you MUST enter your WWCC number as part of your registration. To apply for one, click here.
